Join Our Test and Secure Your Duplo Voucher!
Anyone who has followed the history of the Duplo horseshoe knows that we are always striving to find new solutions. That’s why we regularly test new materials. We understand that it takes a certain willingness to take risks to participate in such a test, and we sincerely thank you for supporting us in our efforts to keep improving.
Why We Need You as a Test Partner
We completely understand that you might be skeptical about a new material at first. That’s why we always start by testing it on our own horses and the horses of our team members. Only if these initial tests show good results do we include a material in our official test range. Even though we’re already convinced by the material at this stage, we still need your support: only with your help can we find out whether the material performs well under all kinds of conditions – with different horse breeds, riding styles, types of care, and in various regions.
Clipped Composite Horseshoes Made from Test Material
Visually, the test model is identical to our Standard or Extra horseshoes with quarter clips. To ensure easy identification, it will come with a special label.
The 'test' horseshoe is made of test material in the familiar Standard and Extra hardness degrees. The 'test' horseshoes with quarter clips are available in round and oval shapes, ranging from 118mm to 142mm.
Your Personal Test Report on the New Material
By purchasing these 'test' horseshoes, you are helping our product development team, and we sincerely appreciate your support. We would love to hear about your experience with this new synthethic material in a short test report—though participation is, of course, optional.
Each shipment of 'test' horseshoes includes a corresponding form. Please fill it out and send it, along with the requested photos, via email to info@duplo-frank.de. If you misplace the form, you can use the PDF version instead.
Required Photos
- For comparison, we need a photo of the old 'normal' horseshoes (bottom side).
- Please take a photo of each hoof immediately after shoeing or gluing with the 'test'
shoes.
You can find a reference for the correct perspective in our photo guidelines. - Please take a photo of the 'test' horseshoes at the end of the shoeing period (sole side).
Every direct piece of feedback is valuable to us, whether positive or negative, as it helps us improve. We truly appreciate your support in this process.
For each fully completed test report submitted with the required photos, you will receive a Duplo bucket and a € 10.00 voucher, which you can redeem on your next order.
Of course, we also welcome other experience reports, even if they are not related to this test product. You can use our online feedback form for this purpose.

| Material and Construction – Special Features | |
|---|---|
| Plastic Coating | The soft plastic coating has a shock-absorbing effect. The bar made of plastic material can improve the blood circulation of the hoof. |
| Hoof Mechanism | The flexible synthetic material encourages the mobility of the elastic hoof structures. |
| Sole Area | The open sole design offers breathability to the hoof
sole
and the frog
. The molded synthetic lip, acts like a debris guard. It helps to reduce the amount of snow and debris balling up . |
| Grip | To improve the grip of the shoe you may add a deeper thread pattern and / or spikes. Always adjust riding speed according to the ground conditions, especially on slippery surfaces. |
| Knobs | The knobs are impressed into the weight-bearing surface of the hoof wall and help the
nail-on horseshoe keep its position on the hoof. If you are using the horseshoe as a glue-on shoe, please grind off all knobs before plastic-welding the glue-on tabs to the shoe. |
| Metal Core | The metal core enhances durability and helps avoid unwanted pressure on the hoof. |
| Nailing Slots | The shoe features 6 to 8 nailing slots integrated into the metal core, depending on
size.
The optimal nail size varies by hoof condition and size. You’ll find general recommendations in our shop under hoof nails. |
| Quarter Clips | Quarter clips make nailing easier and help prevent the horseshoe from twisting or slipping
during the regular shoeing period. Be careful to adjust the quarter clips to the hoof angle when shoeing. |
| Shoeing and Customization | |
|---|---|
| Application | Based on our initial in-house tests, we assume that the test horseshoe is also suitable for use as nail-on shoe, glue-on shoe or cast shoe. |
| Shoeing Instruction | can be found unter FAQ → Instructions |

grinder,
hoof nippers, or toeing knife. Advanced modifications (at your own discretion) are possible: narrow, widen, lengthen the shoe or close the sole area; you may also bend or grind a Toe Rocker . More info available under FAQ → Adjustment to the Hoof. |
