product description
The TS Hoof Pick
The hoof pick is the basic tool for the rider in the daily stable routine and at the same time the first aid for the farrier before working on the bare hoof after removing the horseshoe.
We have experienced everything: hoof scrapers with gel handle where all of a sudden the metal tip leaves the plastic sheath and suddenly lies next to the hoof during hoof cleaning... hoof picks where the tip gives way at a stuck stone and is suddenly bent in the other direction...
There is a wide variety of hoof picks on the market. From very cheap, simple hoof scrapers without brush to the various shapes and types of handles.
Thomas Schaaf is a farrier and a long-time customer of ours. He recently presented us his self-made hoof pick.
Thomas wanted to design a hoof pick where not only the picker is sturdy but where the brushes can also handle more stubborn dirt in and on the horse's hoof. A hoof pick that feels good in the hand and which, above all, is durable and therefore sustainable.
We were very pleased with his product presentation - because that's exactly why we launched our Innovations range back then: in order to be able to offer our own new developments in the field of hoof protection at reduced test prices, of course, but also to offer innovative people and developers among our customers the possibility to bring their ideas to the market.
Since the hoof pick has gained great popularity among our customers, it has been part of our regular product range since January 2024.

The man behind the hoof pick: Thomas Schaaf
"I am 47 years old and began my training as a hoof care technician/hoof technician in 2003/04 at the GdHK. Since then, I have been constantly trying to improve my skills and work processes in order to achieve the best results possible.
That is why I started early to deal with the subject of hoof scrapers, since I am affected by this issue myself. Therefore, I experimented for months with various shapes and materials until I came to a satisfactory result for me. And it is precisely this result that I am pleased to present to you today."
Tips and Tricks
The steel picker can be used in many ways, especially to remove small stones from the white line, or simply as a hoof scraper. You can also modify the tip of the picker at your own discretion by grinding the tip rounder or more pointed.
