The Balm is suitable for regular hoof care and for use with hoof cracks . It can be applied to keep the area of the coronet and the coronary band soft in cases of hoof crack issues.
Andreas (Andi) Hundsmann, the farrier behind the products, has been a certified farrier and farriery instructor since 2006. Drawing on his professional experience, he began several years ago to produce care products for horses and hooves in organic quality.
It is important to him that his products are 100% natural and free from preservatives, artificial dyes, and petroleum based carriers .
Application and safety instructions for using Huf & Kronbalm
When using the Kron & Hufbalm, make sure that the hoof is clean and dry before application. The balm is usable for about 3 months after opening. We recommend ensuring that the product remains uncontaminated during use. The balm should be stored in a cool place.

Manuka Honey MGO 630+
Manuka honey is not just any honey! The number after the Methylglyoxal (MGO) value shows how much Methylglyoxal is in the honey. Methylglyoxal is the special ingredient: the higher its concentration, the stronger the honey is.
Methylglyoxal is known for its strong antibacterial effects and its ability to help with wound healing. That’s why honey is often used for wounds.
Manuka honey with an MGO rating of 400+ can often be consumed directly. The Manuka honey used by Andreas Hundsmann in his Huf & Kronbalm is therefore very high-quality and powerful.
Application of Kron & Hufbalm in Combination with Glue-On Horseshoes
When using hoof care products in combination with a glue-on shoe caution is always advised. Many hoof care products, especially those containing oil, can negatively affect the adhesive bond, so active treatment should be stopped early.
Even though the Huf & Kronbalm is not applied directly to the adhesive area on the hoof, you should consider the hoof growth . Depending on how "generously and extensively" the area is treated, there may be overlaps with the future adhesive area. Therefore, we generally recommend stopping the treatment well before the appointment with your farrier.
