Wolf Busch® Basic Tabs – the Cost-Effective Solution for Your Glue-on Horseshoes
The idea of a cost-optimized model with the same functionality isn't new to us – we already pursued this approach with our Basic horseshoes. Since the glue-on tabs have become an essential part of our range, we've spent the last few months intensively tweaking and testing to bring you a more affordable option.
Of course, the Basic Tabs have already undergone extensive testing. Several of our customers have tried them on their own horses or client horses.
The feedback so far is very promising – which is exactly why we're now inviting you to join the test phase and share your experience with us.
After the successful launch with size 4, the next sizes will follow gradually. If the new Basic Tabs convince you as much as they convinced us, feel free to leave us a product review.
Application and Safety Instructions for Using the Basic Tabs
Whether you're a farrier or a horse owner: To avoid injury to humans and horses, it's important to read and follow our safety instructions when using our products.
Just like the original Basic composite horseshoe , the Basic Tabs are initially part of our Innovations test range. This means you now have the opportunity to purchase the new product at a discounted trial price.
Gluing with the Basic Tabs
When it comes to gluing horseshoes, several factors are crucial in addition to selecting the right glue-on horseshoes and superglue. These include precise barefoot trimming, exact fitting of the horseshoe to the hoof, and a strong welding seam.
Another important aspect is temperature, as the hardness of the synthethic material should suit the environmental conditions to minimize the risk of losing the horseshoe. Our new Basic Tabs are currently available in just one hardness degree. We've had good results with it in moderate temperatures. In cold weather, we recommend warming the tabs slightly and pre-shaping them for better hoof conformity.

Special Considerations When Working with the Basic Tabs
In terms of application, dos and don'ts, and other characteristics, the Basic Tabs are functionally similar to the other Wolf Busch® glue-on tabs. For a detailed gluing guide and more essential information, we kindly refer you to the product description of the Wolf Busch® Tabs.
Depending on the horseshoe and synthetic material used, you may need to adjust the hot air tool's temperature and rolling speed accordingly.
The Basic version is fully compatible with the Basic horseshoes. But don't be misled by the name — 'Basic' stands for cost-efficiency only. The Basic Tabs can be combined with all products that work with our other glue-on tabs - not only with the Basic horseshoe.

For a strong weld seam, we recommend using our welding device.
