Hoofjack® – The One. The Original. Still Unmatched.
With the slogan “The One. The Original. Still Unmatched.”, Kerckhaert promotes its Hoofjack®. And indeed, it’s also one of the most popular models among our customers. An interesting parallel even connects it to our composite horseshoes: both are true originals – developed by farriers based on many years of hands-on experience in the farrier’s everyday work.
What Makes the Hoofjack® Special?
Safe and efficient hoof care work
The Hoofjack® stands out with its smart circular design and carefully considered features. Its round base distributes weight ideally for stable handling and practical use.
Comfortable, back-friendly work on the horse’s hoof
The Hoofjack® was developed to make hoof care easier by reducing physical strain. Every detail is designed to promote better posture, streamline workflows, and improve results.
Magnetic tool holders and adjustable cradles and posts are the small extras that make a big difference in the farrier’s daily routine. And if the magnetic holders aren’t enough or you prefer a different system, there’s a matching aluminum tool rack that can easily be mounted on the Hoofjack®.
Different Colors and Sizes
The right Hoofjack® base for every horse: this is where you see the experienced farrier behind the Hoofjack® design. Naturally, a draft horse hoof needs a wider support surface and larger plastic base than a pony hoof! No surprise that the original Hoofjack® comes in several sizes.
When people think of the Hoofjack®, they often picture a green hoof stand – but it doesn’t have to be green. The standard Hoofjack® is also available in pink, purple, and red.
Plastic or Steel?
A discussion not limited to horseshoes in the farrier world – it also applies to hoof stands. This draws further parallels to our own products: in our composite horseshoes with a synthetic cover, we deliberately combine solid steel with flexible plastic – strength where it’s needed, combined with shock absorption and protection.
In our opinion, this same principle can also be found in the Hoofjack®:
The plastic base is lightweight, shock-absorbing, gentle on the ground, and thanks to rotational
molding extremely robust. Thanks to the rotational molding
process, the base has a seamless design with no weak points, consistent wall thickness, and high
impact resistance even under heavy use.
As a result, the Hoofjack® offers exactly the performance features that can make a difference in a farrier’s everyday routine.
Of course, it could be manufactured more quickly and easily – but according to Kerckhaert, rotational molding is simply the best way to ensure the trusted Hoofjack® quality.
The Mini Hoofjack®
The Mini Hoofjack®base weighs only around 2.5kg – about half the weight of the regular model. If you work frequently with smaller hooves, we also recommend taking a look at our pony horseshoes.
Product details of the Mini Hoofjack®:
- Base diameter: approx. 31.8cm
- Base height: approx. 19.1cm
- Adjustable height: approx. 22.5–38cm
The Standard Hoofjack®
The Standard Hoofjack®, weighing slightly less than 6kg, is available with a choice of green, red, pink, or purple plastic bases.
Product details of the Standard Hoofjack®:
- Base diameter: approx. 45.7cm
- Base height: approx. 31.8cm

Draft – the XL Version for Heavy Horse Hooves
We know that these 'gentle giants' have special needs when it comes to shoeing – that’s why our Heavy Duty Shoes are part of our range . But it’s not just the shoe itself that matters – special farrier solutions must also be adapted to the dimensions and weight of heavy horses. With Hoofjack®, the solution lies in the XL Draft cradle and post. If you work regularly with larger hooves, be sure to explore our full HDS range. These horseshoes are available until hoof size 198mm.
Work and Safety Guidelines
Always check the hoof stand and its accessories for wear or damage before use, and wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment when working on horses. Make sure the stand is placed securely and on a non-slip surface. Only use compatible parts – loose or ill-fitting attachments may increase the risk of injury. Adjust the height of the hoof stand to ensure an ergonomic, back-friendly working position.

Tips & Tricks – Compatible with the Standard Welding Device
If you also offer glue-on horseshoes, you'll be pleased to know that your Hoofjack® hoof stand can support you not only with barefoot trimming and shoeing, but also during the plastic welding process.
When combined with our standard welding device, the hoof stand gives you maximum flexibility in choosing your workstation for welding tasks. The device can be mounted in the Hoofjack® base – just like a front or hind hoof support.
Want to learn more about how the device helps create consistent and stable weld seams? Take a look at the product description or attend one of our official glue-on workshops.
