True to the motto "Practice makes perfect", we added our plastic welding practice welding kits to our product range some time ago. These kits include horseshoe dummies and glue-on collars, allowing you to practice plastic welding at a low cost. After all, a perfect weld seam is just one part of a reliable glue-on horseshoe. Other key factors include hoof preparation, proper horseshoe fitting, and, of course, the actual gluing process.
In our glue-on workshops, we cover all these aspects and give you the opportunity to practice both plastic welding and your glueing technique. Since it is not always easy to have enough horses available for the courses, and practicing in a calm setting can be challenging depending on the horse, we decided to use the Diamond Hoof Capsule for our workshops.
The Diamond Hoof Capsule can also be used for a one-time practice session on proper trimming. However, our courses primarily focus on the glue-on preparation and application, and a single dummy can be used multiple times for this purpose. Whether you want to familiarize yourself with glueing before applying it to a horse for the first time or you conduct training courses yourself, we highly recommend the Diamond Hoof Capsule for your training purposes. Diamond Hoof Capsule for Training Purposes — Dimensions and Hoof Size
The training hoof measures approximately 13 cm in width, 10 cm in height, and 16 cm in total length.
Our plastic welding practice kit includes a variety of sizes and shapes of our horseshoe dummies. Specifically for those who want to use the training hoof, we have added the "Mini Training Kit TH" to our product range. This kit contains only horseshoe dummies that are compatible with the training hoof capsule. For training purposes—sometimes with slight manual adjustments—the following horseshoes are suitable:
- 130 mm round
- 134 mm round
- 134 mm STS
Diamond has also developed a matching device that fits into a hoof stand, allowing the training hoof capsule to be securely fixed in place. However, we have decided not to add this device to our product range at this time, as we believe that you can practice the right glueing technique without this device.
Please make sure to follow our safety guidelines when working with our synthetic horseshoes and accessories. The Diamond Training Hoof Capsule is also made of synthetic material, so when practicing with this product, you must protect yourself from grinding dust and other risks by using personal protective equipment, as outlined in our safety instructions. Additionally, always follow the safety guidelines of the adhesive you use.
