Whether barefoot or in horseshoes, this premium fluid is suitable for nearly every horse and is an ideal solution for dry or brittle hooves. The special formula with sea buckthorn pulp oil and methylglyoxal (MGO) 640 from Manuka Honey delivers essential nutrients to the hoof horn, provides lasting moisture, and can support hoof elasticity.
When used regularly, Hoofsmooth can not only promote a healthy hoof structure but also can ensure a well-groomed appearance—perfect for everyday use as well as shows and competitions. Our tip: Take a few minutes to gently massage the fluid into the coronary band and periople area. This is where hoof growth begins, and the massage helps the ingredients penetrate effectively.
Application and safety instructions when using Hoofsmooth
All products from andis Hufpflege are made using natural ingredients. To avoid any potential risks during use, the manufacturer provides the following guidelines:
- Not suitable for open abscesses .
- Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames, and other ignition sources . No smoking.
- Not intended for consumption .
- In case of eye contact, rinse thoroughly with water for several minutes.
- If skin irritation occurs, seek medical advice.
- Not suitable for children under the age of 7.
Make sure the hoof is clean and dry before applying the product—not only to ensure the desired effect, but also to avoid contaminating the brush.

Apply Hoofsmooth to the clean hoof and gently massage it into the coronary band and periople area. Shake well before use. Avoid temperatures below 10°C (50°F)—if needed, warm briefly in your pocket. Do not store above 50°C (122°F).

As a general rule, all andis Hufpflege products should be applied sparingly—less is more! According to the manufacturer, Hoofsmooth has a shelf life of 4 months after opening. During application, make sure the product remains uncontaminated.
Using hoof care products with adhesive horseshoes
We’d like to briefly address the use of care products like Hoofsmooth in combination with adhesive horseshoes. Oil-based hoof care products applied to the hoof wall can affect the bonding between the adhesive tab and the hoof.
We therefore recommend stopping active use of the product well in advance of applying the adhesive. During the shoeing period, the product should not impair bonding as long as the horseshoe is professionally fitted. However, to be on the safe side, make sure the adhesive area on the hoof does not come into contact with the care product.
