Please note that the following safety instructions are not exhaustive. Horses are living and unpredictable animals whose behavior is influenced by numerous factors that we cannot fully predict and certainly cannot fully control.

Part No. 1 - Assembling the Welding Device

1. General Notes and Information

PPE - Personal Protective Equipment

To prevent injuries, make sure to use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment during the assembly.
We recommend wearing suitable safety gloves.

CAUTION

Incorrect assembly can impair the functionality of the welding device and negatively affect the stability of the weld seams.

Misaligned airflow can cause injuries to the operator and/or damage the products being welded.

Take care to avoid pinching yourself when handling any plug connections.

All screws should be tightened adequately but not overtightened.

WARNING

The welding device package includes small parts that could be swallowed.

1.1. Installing the Hot Air Tool

NOTICE

First, check whether your hot air tool is compatible with the device. The reduction nozzle included with the device is suitable for the Steinel hot air tools HL/HM 1920 E, HL/HM 2020 E, HG/HM 2120, HG/HM 2220, HG/HM 2320, MH 3, MH 5.

CAUTION

Ensure that your hot air tool is switched off and, ideally, unplugged while attaching the reduction nozzle. The position of the hot air device can be adjusted manually.

Be cautious, as the hot air blower and its holder may fall if you fully loosen the nut on the top of the welding plate.

1.2. Using the Standard Welding Device with the Hoof Stand

NOTICE

The attachment pipe included in the package is compatible with the Hoofjack and the Blacksmith hoof stand with a plastic base.

CAUTION

Ensure the hoof stand is securely positioned.

Part No. 2 - Working with the Welding Device

2. General Notes and Information

PPE - Personal Protective Equipment

Ensure adequate ventilation and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment when plastic welding.

All three symbols indicate recommended protective equipment: respiratory protection, eye protection, and hand protection should be worn.

NOTICE

Depending on the synthethic material of the products, you will have to adjust the speed, apply a little more or less pressure when plastic-welding, and sometimes adjust the temperature of the hot-air tool.

REFERENCE

Observe the safety precautions of the manufacturer of your hot air tool.
Please observe our official warnings and safety information for Duplo products when using the device to plastic-weld our horseshoes and accessories.

The temperature of the hot air device must always be set correctly. It must be adjusted to the products being welded together.

CAUTION

Select the distance piece that matches the products you are welding. The top edges of the products should align as closely as possible to ensure a stable weld seam. Make sure that the distance pieces do not touch the ball bearing.

Before turning on the hot air tool, make sure the reduction nozzle directs the airflow in the correct direction.

When working with the welding device, select the spacer plates according to the materials being welded. Ensure that the plates do not come into contact with the ball bearing.
When mounting the hot air device in the welding device, ensure that the reduction nozzle attachment is correctly positioned so that the airflow is properly directed.

WARNING

Avoid burning the plastic material so that you do not inhale any vapors.

Remember that plastic can heat up to 200°C / 400°F when welding plastic. The reduction nozzle with the special attachment and the welding plate also heat up during welding, posing a risk of skin burns.
Allow the welding device to cool sufficiently before disassembling it.

When carrying out any welding work, ensure that the weld seams are continuous and stable and that the weld seam does not exert any pressure on sensitive areas of the hoof.

Illustration warning that plastic must not be heated to the point of burning, as this can produce hazardous fumes.
