The Base Plate — a Glue-On Horseshoe as Close to Barefoot as Possible
The baseplate was developed as a variation of our well-known pure plastic model 'Classic' in response to feedback from some customers who expressed a need for a fully closed baseplate without any nailing slots.
The 'Classic', our pure urethane shoe, was originally developed for the purpose of using it as a new outsole for worn-out hoof boots and over time repurposed as a glue-on horseshoe. At that time, mainly for production-related reasons, our pure urethane shoe was being produced with nailing slots. Understanding the reasons behind the request for a completely closed version, we have decided that the new base plate will replace the 'Classic' with a closed sole area.
Like the 'Classic', our base plate can be used as a new base plate for worn-out hoof boots and also as a glue-on shoe for a barefoot-like experience. It cannot be used as a nail-on horseshoe.

The Base Plate Compared to the 'Classic'
The difference between the our first pure urethane shoe and the new base plate is that the latter lacks nailing slots and knob arrays and features a closed sole area.
Using the Base Plate as a Glue-on Shoe
A usage of the base plate as a glue-on horseshoe is, of course, also possible. Please refer to the product description of the 'Classic' for further details on do's and don'ts when using the base plate as glued hoof protection.
Anti-Slip Protection for Your Base Plate
For additional grip, you can equip your base plate with spikes at your own discretion. Spikes and adapters can be found in the 'Anti-Skid Protection' section.
