- Farrier Competition - Thüringen, May On May 10, 2025, we’ll be attending the Farrier Competition in Thüringen! We’re incredibly excited about this special day and the opportunity for inspiring exchanges with all of you! Stop by and experience the fascinating art of farriery with us!
- Trottner Farrier Convention - Brandenburg, May We are excited to participate in the Trottner Farrier Convention in Schorfheide on May 24 and 25, 2025. This year’s theme is “Modification in All Areas”, covering a wide range of topics: from composite horseshoes, steel shoes, glue-on shoes, and modifications of synthetic horn on barefoot hooves to the customization of personal tools. We look forward to engaging discussions about new developments and personalized adaptation options – we can’t wait for inspiring conversations!

- PferdeStark - Dörentrup, August From August 23 to August 24, 2025, we’ll be at the mega-event PferdeStark, where multiple stages will be active throughout both days. In the fields and forest, you’ll find practical demonstrations of modern equipment, showcases of various harnessing techniques, and the latest work methods. The timber hauling course will host the European Championships in single and pair timber hauling, while the fields will feature the European Championships in team plowing as well as workshops for spectators to watch and participate in. In the main show ring, visitors can enjoy driving competitions, pulling power demonstrations, and a high-caliber international show program. For the first time, a second show ring will feature riding demonstrations and competitions. We’re excited to connect with all of you!

Events - Events Related to the Duplo Composite Horseshoe: Workshops and
Seminars
In these practice-oriented workshops, you will gain a deep insight into the versatile application possibilities of composite horseshoes. The workshop price already includes all practice material, so you book a real “all-round carefree package”. We will introduce you to our wide range of products and explain the differences and optimum areas of application of the various adhesive systems. You will also be provided with valuable tips for choosing the right tools and materials for the gluing process. It is important to us that every participant has the opportunity to perfect their welds and to glue on a hoof or hoof dummy independently, but of course under supervision. We are happy to welcome both newcomers and experienced users!

'Nordic' Studs with Disk - the Studs for Nordic Countries
In Nordic countries, winter conditions require horseshoes with taller studs to ensure safety. The combination of snow and ice creates slippery surfaces, making riding particularly hazardous. Our 4mm and 6mm studs do not offer adequate traction for these challenging conditions. Previously, the only solution was to use our Jumper or HDS Traction shoes equipped with higher studs. However, straight bar shoes are not always the best choice for every horse. To address this issue, we have developed the new 'Nordic' stud with a disk, specifically tailored to meet the demands of these regions. The 'Nordic' stud with disk stands approximately 10mm high and is intended for use with our horseshoes featuring stud holes fixed within the plastic coating. It is essential to ensure the stud can always fully sink into the ground. Therefore, suitable ground conditions in the paddock, stable, and field are critical for safe use.

Special Shipping Terms for Our Customers in the United Kingdom
After the recent Farrier Focus event, we took some time to reflect on the many valuable discussions we had there. We received great feedback and noted a clear interest in our product range. Since we currently don’t have a distribution partner in the UK, we’re introducing a special offer to make it easier for you to access our products directly: shipping costs have been reduced to 15 EUR net per parcel until further notice. Our horseshoes are made in Germany and are classified under Customs Tariff Code 39269097. As far as we know, this classification allows you to benefit from the preferential origin terms of the EU–United Kingdom Trade and Cooperation Agreement.
Classic Now Available in Large Sizes!
To make sure that large hooves can also benefit from our pure plastic horseshoe, the Classic, we have decided to add the sizes 174mm, 178mm, 182mm, 190mm and 198mm (round) as well as 170mm, 174mm, 178mm, 182mm, 190mm and 198mm (oval) to our range. The new sizes are manufactured in the HDS style and are therefore “thicker” than the other Classic shoes. They can be glued in combination with the n° 6 Wolf Busch adhesive tabs. Continuous Improvement: Our online shop is gradually being made accessible
We are constantly striving to develop and improve our services. To ensure the best possible usability of our website and our online shop, we are working to make it as accessible as possible. In doing so, we follow the guidelines of the Accessibility Enhancement Act (BFSG) and the associated regulation (BFSGV). Our goal is to make access to our products as simple as possible and to ensure that all users, regardless of their individual needs, find a user-friendly design. Now new in our Innovation Range - the Hoof Sole Protector
Most of our horseshoes have an open sole area and an integrated debris guard, as this is the best combination for most horses. Thanks to the open sole area, the hoof sole and frog can breathe, and the integrated debris guard—similar to a Snowgrip® in a steel shoe—largely prevents mud, snow, and arena sand from balling up. However, what works well for most horses does not necessarily apply to all, and there are situations where it is necessary to close the open sole area to protect the hoof sole. The optimized version of our square closure plates is our precision-fit closure plugs for the hoof sole area, which we call the Hoof Sole Protector. The HSP is part of our Innovations product range and therefore currently available at reduced test prices. We look forward to your experiences and feedback!
Environmental Protection and Recycling – a Challenge that we have to face in many Areas of Life today
No matter which industry we take a closer look at: It is an issue everywhere - and of course, as a company that processes synthetic materials, we are aware that it affects us as a manufacturer of composite and plastic horseshoes just as much as the manufacturers of car or bicycle tires or shoes, for example. For the latter, some stores have collection containers with bonus programs on new purchases – a good option for properly disposing of used goods. Some clothing companies make garments from plastic collected from the sea. Good compromises have therefore already been found in many areas. Unfortunately, it is more difficult to solve the recycling challenges in our sector. Due to the current situation and the fact that we are frequently asked such questions by our customers, we would like to take a closer look at this topic in our newsletter.

The Snow Edition for Winter!
We are excited to announce the addition of the Snow Edition to our innovation lineup for this winter. It's our special model designed for the cold season, featuring optimized protection against snowballing, quarter clips, and threaded inserts. The Snow Edition will be available in sizes ranging from 114mm to 142mm, in both round and oval shapes, and is specifically designed for use with spikes and/or traction studs. The initial sizes are already available, and we look forward to hearing your feedback and experiences with this product.
New Contact Person in the USA!
We have great news – Kathi and Peter van der Gugten from Equine Hoof Solutions are now the new contact persons in the USA. Kathi has been working with horses for more than 20 years, and Peter spends 4 months each year in the Alps as a trail guide, always using our horseshoes. Both of them are convinced of our products and are ready to assist you with any questions or support you might need. You can find their contact information on our list of distribution partners.
Application of our Instant Adhesives without Certificate
The European Commission has changed annex XVII of the REACH regulation (EG) (new no. 74) with the regulation (EU) 2020/1149 which has entered into force as from August 24, 2020. Many farriers are currently unsure which adhesives they may use in the future without a corresponding training and certificate. That's why we have asked our glue vendors about the "diisocyanates" topic: The instant adhesives that are available in our online shop are not affected by the new regulation and you can use them as usual (while respecting the safety information given with the glue).

The demand for effective hoof protection continues to rise, and we take immense pride in delivering inventive solutions crafted in Germany. Alongside our hoof protection products, you'll also find a comprehensive selection of items essential for both hoof care and the application of our composite horseshoes.
Model Revision
The development of our alternative horse shoe, the “original” composite horseshoe, began more than 20 years ago. And of course, just as in other industries, at some point it is time to incorporate new knowledge and experience into the model making process. Since our early days, we have learned a lot – both through the many years of using the horseshoes on our own horses and through intensive contact with horse owners and farriers. At the same time, our production technology has developed further and many things that would have been unthinkable a decade ago can now be implemented without any problems. From toolmaking and injection molding to storage and shipping – everything takes place at our production facility in the Bavarian Forest in Germany. We started revising our horseshoe models in mid-2020, but unfortunately it is not possible to implement all the planned changes immediately for all models. The changes include, for example, the switch from four rows of knobs on the Extra Plus horseshoe to uniformly two rows of knobs, a slight depression on the hoof side of the horseshoe to relieve the sole, improved positions of the nail holes, a plastic lip on the Extra horseshoes and a new profile solution for the profiled horseshoes. Depending on which model and size you order during the transition period, you will either receive an old version or a revised horseshoe. If you have any questions, please contact the Duplo Team.
